The church, based in Weybridge, Surrey, found out about Momentum when a local family known to the church, was receiving support from the charity.

In the last 12 months, the congregation have organised countless fundraisers for us including a quiz night, Christmas carol concert, jazz evening, sponsored walk, coffee mornings and bake sales – they have certainly kept themselves busy! On top of this, the church is committed to raising awareness of Momentum and building a presence for the charity within their community. They also volunteer at a number of our events, including the annual summer picnic at Shepperton Marina, the Christmas Grotto, and at fundraising collections. The care they have for our cause is something that makes this partnership quite unique.

Claire Prescott, Chair of the Parish Charity Committee at Christ the Prince of Peace Church said: “I have enjoyed bringing parishioners together to form an active and compassionate group who put a great deal of effort into fundraising for Momentum. We try to ensure the family who introduced us to Momentum are at the heart of our events by encouraging them to come and enjoy themselves, knowing that they are supported by us all.”

Mary Lee, Pastoral Assistant at Christ the Prince of Peace Church added: “Momentum is a local charity that does great work at ground level not only with the children, but the whole family.  Our partnership is not just about money, it is just as important to raise awareness, building connections so more people in the community can get involved in different ways.”

A huge THANK YOU to everyone at Christ the Prince of Peace Church– we are looking forward to seeing what the next two years of our partnership brings!
