How your group can help

We currently need help more than ever to support children with cancer or a life-challenging illness, and their families. Our team of Family Support Workers offer personally tailored practical and emotional support both in hospital and at home following a child’s diagnosis, which can devastate family life. Whilst the sick child receives appropriate medical treatment, their wider needs – and that of their family – are often neglected. Research shows that helping families cope with stressful experiences should be a priority during treatment, yet extremely strained for resources, support provided on the NHS does not meet the needs of the whole family, or is not available at the right time.

Why choose Momentum

The valuable support which Momentum gives helps bridge a huge gap in provision. As a local charity, your support will help families in your community. Our support services include counselling and creative therapies, and much needed access to respite breaks and treats during gruelling treatment plans which often last for several years. Our goal is simple, to ensure that no family ever has to cope alone.

“Sky spent a long time in intensive care….Momentum came to see us every few days, which was at the worst time of our lives”. – Emily, Sky’s Mum
