Carly Snowball
Carly Snowball is a senior children’s nurse leader with over 20 years’
experience across paediatric and adult healthcare, specialising in cancer
services, transformation projects, quality, safety, and workforce development.
Carly currently works at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where she
is part of the senior leadership team for cancer services. Carly’s current nurse
director position is a pan london multi-organizational role transiting a world
leading paedaitric cancer service and is deemed one of the most complex
childrens transformation projects within the NHS. Carly’s divisional nurse
director role, prior to this position, had responsibility for both children and
young people’s services and adult hematology and neuro-oncology. Her role
spans clinical governance, risk and quality, operational leadership,
people management and financial stewardship across multiple sites. She has
extensive experience working at board and network level, including leadership
roles within regional children’s cancer networks.
Throughout her career, Carly has held senior leadership posts in children’s
services, including Director of nursing, Modern Matron, Advanced Nurse
Practitioner alongside establishing the first Clinical Nurse Educator in the
service for childrens cancer services. She has led large multidisciplinary teams,
overseen complex services, and worked closely with families, charities and
partner organisations to improve experiences and outcomes for children and
young people with serious illness.
Carly has a longstanding connection to the charity sector and has acted as a
charity lead within NHS children’s services, supporting fundraising, governance,
and partnership working. She brings a strong focus on
safeguarding, experience and engagement, and is passionate about ensuring
children and families are at the centre of organisational decision-making.
She is a Nye Bevan Executive Leadership Scholar and holds a Master’s degree
in Advanced Children’s Nursing, alongside postgraduate leadership and
education qualifications. Carly is known for her values-driven leadership style,
commitment to equity and wellbeing, and belief in the impact that strong
trusteeship can have on outcomes for children and families.
Outside of work, Carly is a parent and an active supporter of health and
wellbeing, balancing a demanding career with family life, sport, and travel.
