We begun working with Worthing Hospital at the beginning of this year, with our Family Support Team helping on the paediatric wards and supporting families under their care both in hospital, and at home. We also worked closely with our NHS teammates there to identify areas on the paediatric wards which were in need of some refurbishment TLC, as part of our commitment to improving the hospital experience through much-needed room transformations.

This isolation room, although clean and maintained, was clinically focused and in need of some child-friendly artwork to brighten up the bare walls. In addition to this, the view out of the window was somewhat uninviting, so we were tasked with bringing welcoming distractions throughout.

Thanks to generous donations made through our Big Give Christmas Challenge, we’ve been able to transform the isolation room through the use of beach-themed wall art, Mo the Owl and wave window decals as well as some fun ceiling tiles, which are a great way to distract young patients from treatments and procedures that they may have to undergo.
