Tom Holland delivers superhero surprise for Momentum families
- Family trips and experiences
The event was made possible through the incredible support of The Brothers Trust, founded by Tom Holland’s parents, Nikki and Dom. Their mission is to champion smaller charities like Momentum, helping them make a lasting difference. For many years, The Brothers Trust has been a valued supporter of Momentum. Alongside bringing people together through a number of fantastic events, they have also provided vital funding that enables us to continue delivering our services and supporting families when they need us most.
The special event at Battersea Power Station cinema gave families the chance to enjoy the new film together, and Tom Holland made the day even more memorable by meeting and greeting every family, having his photograph taken with them, taking part in a Q&A with the kids, and signing autographs!
Our CEO, Sarah, and Hana from our Family Support Team, were delighted to be there to welcome Momentum families and give them their special tickets.
Every guest was given a box of popcorn and a bottle of water, generously donated by the cinema. After the film guests enjoyed a 30-minute Q&A session with Tom, where he answered questions from children and parents. The children asked some brilliant questions, including: ‘Which Spider-Man suit is your favourite?’ If you weren’t Spider-Man, which superhero would you be? What is your favourite Deliveroo order? and “Do you have a crush on Zendaya?!’
One mum, who attended the event with her family said: “Wow, what a day! Thank you for the amazing tickets and opportunity to see and meet Spider-Man. We were all absolutely star-struck and had such an incredible time. We loved the movie and, most importantly, the whole experience created such a special memory for our family. We truly cannot thank Momentum enough for continuing to go above and beyond to create these amazing opportunities for us. It means more than you know, and we are so grateful.”
A dad, who went along with his family commented: “A big thank you from all of us. At a basic level, it was lovely to get out as a family and go to the cinema – something we’ve been unable to do in the year since our son was diagnosed. But more than that, everyone we met was so genuinely lovely – especially Tom! The film was great – but then we all knew that it would be!”
Talking about the event, Hana from our Family Support Team said: “There was a real buzz of excitement and anticipation in the air, and it was a truly special and memorable experience for all the families involved! Some parents told us they had only revealed the surprise to their children on the journey to the venue.”
Hana continued: “Tom was wonderful with the children and has an ability to make everyone feel valued and important. While I was there, I took the opportunity to thank Tom and the Brothers Trust for their ongoing support and for bringing hope and smiles to children facing illness and Tom shared that he genuinely loves being involved in events like this.”
We can’t thank Tom Holland and the Brothers Trust enough – their generosity has created lasting memories and has brought an incredible amount of joy to families.
