Proudly wearing her Momentum green t-shirt, Thea completed an incredible 22 ascents and descents – one for every year Momentum has been supporting families. The challenge was part of our Move for Momentum fundraising campaign.

Thea and her family have been supported by our bereavement service, Momentum Echoes, since her younger brother, Louis, died five years ago.

At each summit, Thea released balloons carrying messages from families supported by Momentum Echoes, honouring the memory of their loved ones.

Talking about why she picked this particular challenge, Thea said: “I have a nice memory of hiking Box Hill with Louis on my dad’s back, and we now return each year on his birthday, so it was the perfect location for my Move for Momentum Challenge.”

Touching on her role as a Young Ambassador for Momentum, Thea said: “For me, being a Young Ambassador means helping other people feel less alone in what they are going through and raising awareness for a charity that has helped me through so much.”

Thea completed her challenge in 5 hours 8 minutes and raised over £830 with donations still coming in. Absolutely brilliant – well done Thea, you are incredible!
