Momentum team members with Ron Lay from The Richmond Golf Club

The club has hosted a wide range of successful fundraising events to achieve this very impressive total, including its annual Captain’s Charity Day and Corporate Charity Day. Alongside these, special auctions featuring stand out prizes has boosted the overall amount raised, thanks to the generosity and support of members who bid on the items.

At the end of last month, more than 100 members and guests from the golf club gathered for the annual Captain’s Farewell Dinner. Captain Ron Lay presented our CEO, Sarah Woods, and members of our fundraising team, with a giant cheque representing the remarkable funds raised.

Captain, Ron Lay, selected Momentum as his chosen charity for 2025-26 after meeting our Founder and Honorary President, Bianca Effemey, who shared Momentum’s impact in both the local and wider community, something that really resonated with Ron.

Reflecting on the fantastic amount of money The Richmond Golf Club have raised for Momentum, our CEO, Sarah Woods said: “We can’t thank everyone at Richmond Golf Club enough for their support. I have been blown away by the dedication, generosity and enthusiasm shown by members of the club, particularly Ron, who has championed the partnership for the last 12 months.  I can’t put into words the difference this amount of money will make to delivering our services and supporting families who are going through some of the toughest times they will ever face.”

Just a few miles from central London, The Richmond Golf Club is located in the village of Petersham, Surrey, bordering Richmond Park. The golf club has a special history with Momentum, and they very generously host our annual Golf Day every year. A huge thank you to everyone at the club for their support.
