The Richmond Golf Club swings into action

With over 100 guests in attendance, the sold-out event was a huge success. A full day of golf, a delicious lunch, and a lively auction packed with brilliant prizes: bespoke paintings, holidays at private villas, tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and an opportunity to play with a professional golfer were just some of the prizes up for the taking. A combination of ticket sales and generous auction bids saw the event raise thousands of pounds for Momentum – simply amazing!
Only a few miles from central London, The Richmond Golf Club is situated in the village of Petersham in Surrey and the club borders the very beautiful Richmond Park.
Ron Lay is this year’s Captain. He chose Momentum as his Charity after meeting Momentum’s Founder and Honorary President, Bianca Effemey OBE.
Talking about his reasons for supporting Momentum, Ron said: “Momentum has a long and treasured history with our club. After meeting Bianca and her team, it was clear to me that Momentum has made a transformative impact in the local community and makes the world a better place for families and children with life changing issues. I saw that a significant amount of their contributions was put directly back into their services, which is important to me. I know that as a club, we can and will support them, and we will make a real difference.”
The Richmond Golf Club’s next fundraiser is on 4 July, when we will host our Corporate Charity Day. This popular event includes a round of golf, and lunch, and is already sold out!
A huge thank you to Ron and everyone at The Richmond Golf Club – we feel very proud to be your Charity of the Year.
