Payroll Giving. Ongoing support for families every month.

Updated for 2026 payroll giving conversations.

Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-efficient way for employees to support Momentum Children’s Charity through small, regular monthly donations taken directly from their salary before tax.

Also known as Give As You Earn, payroll giving helps provide reliable, long-term funding so we can continue supporting families of seriously ill children when they need us most.

What is Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving allows employees to donate to charity directly from their salary before tax is deducted. This means donations cost less to the individual, while charities receive the full value of the gift.

Payroll Giving is set up through employers’ payroll systems using
HMRC-approved Payroll Giving agencies and runs automatically each month.

Example

  • A basic-rate taxpayer donating £10 per month will see just £8 deducted from their take-home pay.
  • Momentum Children’s Charity receives the full £10.

Savings vary depending on your tax rate.

We’ve created a simple one-page explainer that can be passed around teams to explain how Payroll Giving works and the impact it has on families.
