Amber and Molly-Rose, both 10, spent hours beautifully painting pebbles until they had enough to fill a table and set up a stall to sell them.

Cosima was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year and very sadly died at the start of this year. We supported her family throughout her treatment and have continued to be there for them through our bereavement service, Echoes.

Amber and Molly-Rose, who went to school with Cosima painted pebbles of all shapes and size and each one featured its own unique design, including rainbows, stars, hearts and intricate patterns.

Cosima’s mum, Olivia, said: “Cosima absolutely loved arts, crafts, sewing, painting and music, and more! As part of her Celebration of Life service at St Stephen’s Church in Richmond, we set up Cosima’s Festival of Play and Creativity next door to share these things she loved. It included a table where friends and family could decorate pebbles inspired by their memories of her.”

Talking about Amber and Molly-Rose, Olivia said: “Amber and Molly-Rose have continued this idea of decorating pebbles and also selling them to raise money for a charity that has been such a support to Cosima and our family. They were in the same class at school as Cosima and were such lovely classmates. The girls approached me and asked which charity I wanted them to fundraise for, and it went from there.”

Olivia added: “It has also revealed how Momentum has helped others. When they were selling the pebbles, a lady came along whose family has been supported by Momentum – she was very emotional and was delighted to see the girls supporting the charity. She gave all the change she had in her house and said she will treasure the stones she bought. It feels very meaningful, and to be celebrated, that Amber and Molly-Rose took the time to do something so special in memory of Cosima, to raise funds for Momentum who provided such wonderful support to Cosima, and to others.”
