Momentum young ambassador, Thomas, with this Easter egg collection

As three of our brilliant young ambassadors step down from their roles, we wanted to celebrate some of their incredible achievements over the past year.

In April, Holly completed an incredible endurance challenge, cycling 5,000km with her mum and raising more than £3,000 for Momentum – amazing! Alongside this, Holly supported numerous campaigns by creating video messages and sharing stories across her own social media platform.

Fundraising extraordinaire Thomas set himself an eggstra special Easter challenge, collecting an incredible 166 chocolate eggs for children at East Surrey Hospital. He even visited the hospital to personally deliver the eggs alongside one of our Family Support Workers. Thomas also took part in our Move for Momentum challenge, mowing his neighbours’ lawns in return for donations to the charity. In December, he went one step further by organising a Christmas fair in his garden! On top of all this, Thomas also supported several other campaigns throughout the year.

Thomas said: “It has meant a lot to me to be able to give something back to Momentum. The experience has helped me build confidence and take on opportunities I might not have tried otherwise. My advice to future young ambassadors would be to embrace it – there are so many ways to get involved, and you’ll meet a fantastic group of young people along the way.”

Howard became a fantastic spokesperson for Momentum, sharing his story on national television on This Morning, speaking at numerous Momentum events, and even addressing Parliament. He also represented Momentum at a charity day in London, where he met several celebrities, including Gareth Southgate and Anthony Joshua. Alongside this, Howard created video content to help promote our fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Howard said: “Public speaking has been a really valuable and enjoyable experience for me. I’ve learned how important it is to play to your strengths and focus on what you’re good at. I’m looking forward to continuing to raise awareness of Momentum and already have lots of ideas I’m working on.”

All of this was achieved alongside work and study. We feel incredibly grateful that Holly, Thomas and Howard have been part of the young ambassadors programme, and we wish them every success for the future.

Thea and Anna Maria are returning as young ambassadors for another year, and we can’t wait to welcome some new faces to the programme soon.
