Fred gets creative by designing and selling Christmas cards
Artistic Fred came up with several different designs for the cards which he then copied until he had a collection big enough to sell. His designs included festive stockings, a fun hot chocolate mug, a friendly Father Christmas, beautiful baubles, and a cheeky elf. Prices ranged from 50p to £2, and Fred, who persuaded a friend to help him run the stall, raised an impressive £85.20 for us.
Pete, Fred’s dad said: “Fred did it all off his own back. He loves drawing and made various Christmas themed pictures, all hand drawn. He then copied the pictures and stuck them to cards. The first thing I knew about it was when he asked me to set up a table outside our house to sell the cards. He then sat patiently for three hours selling. He loved it so much he went back and made more cards which sold out again!
Pete continued: “Fred decided to support Momentum as Kieron, one of the charity’s trustees who lives next door, had been telling us about the great work they do. He has also spoken to me about the personal connection he has to Momentum. Fred is already planning his next fundraising opportunity – watch out for Easter cards or perhaps a themed bake sale!”
We can’t thank Fred enough for taking the time to come up with such a unique way to raise money for Momentum – what a great way to engage neighbours and members of the local community too. We look forward to hearing what you have up your sleeve for your next fundraiser.
