Echoes on the river
- Bereavement support

Four mums who are being supported through our bereavement service, Echoes, attended a relaxing Cruise & Craft session in mid-June. Led by Ann and Catherine from Handmade Workshops, the group explored the calming art of Zen doodling—an ideal activity for a mid-summer evening. This was the third in a series of craft evenings run by Handmade Workshops, the first two being held at The Lookout clubhouse, Oakwood, in Esher.
Our Bereavement Family Support Worker, Charlotte, attended the event and said: “From the moment everyone arrived at the marina, there was a shared sense of peace and enjoyment just being near the water. Once onboard, many of us were so absorbed in our doodling and conversation that we didn’t even notice the boat turning around!”
The evening was an opportunity to decompress, catch up, and connect with other mums who have been though similar experiences. A big thank you to Handmade Workshops for taking the time to organise such special activities for our Echoes events.
Last week, a group of dads, who are also being supported by our Echoes team, met up for a Beer and Cruise evening on our riverboat. It was a relaxed, social night where the dads could talk and socialise in a private space, share fond memories of their child, or have a quiet moment to themselves.
