Each year, Drusillas in Alfriston, East Sussex, opens its doors after hours for Dreamnight – a magical evening of fun, food and entertainment designed for families who may not have the opportunity to visit during normal opening times.

As well as being home to hundreds of wonderful animals, Drusillas offers a variety of exciting rides and adventure play areas.

As well as exploring the zoo and enjoying the rides and play areas, families attending Dreamnight were invited to take part in accessible sports workshops, meet therapy dogs, enjoy a complimentary barbecue and refreshments, try their luck on a special tombola and have their faces painted.

Talking about the event, one family said: “A massive thank you for such a lovely evening at Drusillas. On arrival, we noticed some therapy dogs – heaven! Emmie made a beeline for them! Several photos later, we went in. We headed straight to the shop to buy a soft toy. We were then directed to the free tombola where everyone is a winner! Two soft toys later, we went on a couple of rides which Emmie just loved – she screamed with delight! With an ice cream, drink and a packet of crisps in hand, Emmie decided it was time to go! After a quick photo opportunity with Sully the seagull, we were on our way. She lasted nearly two hours at the park – that is almost a record for Emmie.”

Another family added: “We had the most wonderful evening! Thank you so much for the tickets and the opportunity to attend. The event was well organised, and the kids had so much fun. They loved the splash pads, the rides, panning for gold, and the toy tombola! We hadn’t been to Drusillas for a long time prior to this, so they felt really special, especially being able to be there after opening hours.”
