Crafting memories together
- Bereavement support
Held at The Unite Response in Teddington, who generously provided the venue free of charge, the event was attended by mums, dads, a grandmother, and a sibling.
Sophie, a talented local artist and Momentum’s Respite Manager, organised and led the crafting workshop. Sophie shared her skills, assisting families as they created beautiful concertina folded books to cherish special memories of their child.
Sophie taught families how to make small origami envelopes to place treasured memories inside. The books were taken home by families to be filled with photos and keepsakes. The beautiful books can either be folded and tied with a ribbon or opened out for display on a shelf.
It was a truly special evening, offering families a gentle and supportive space to share memories with each other, or to spend quiet moments reflecting and remembering the times they hold close.
We will be holding another memory book making workshop later in the year.
