Christmas Spectacular shines as a festive triumph
More than 130 tickets were sold, raising nearly £4,000 – incredible! It was heart-warming to see such an enthusiastic audience of supporters and families come together to share and enjoy this special evening.
The Laine Theatre Arts Choir showcased their vocal talents, and it was clear to see that hours of rehearsals had taken place to get everything just perfect on the night. The concert was conducted by Lawrence Broomfield, Choral Director at Laine Theatre Arts. The choir performed a varied programme, spanning much-loved traditional carols to popular numbers from popular musicals, with audiences encouraged to join in throughout the evening. Festive favourites included White Christmas, O Holy Night, Somewhere In My Memory, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Lawrence Broomfield, Choral Director at Laine Theatre Arts, said: “Music and singing possesses a unique power, articulating hope and joy when words alone aren’t enough. Christmas, a season for reflection and togetherness, amplified this sentiment, as young performers united to create an unforgettable evening supporting other young people. It was a sincere privilege to serve as Musical Director, bringing Laine Theatre Arts Choir to leading this concert in heartfelt support of the vital work done by Momentum Children’s Charity.”
Guests heard from Tracey, a mum who movingly described how Momentum has supported her family since her son’s cancer diagnosis.
The evening was compered by our ambassador, actor and singer Kim Ismay, who also treated the audience to a special performance.
The stunning All Saints Church in Kingston provided a fitting backdrop for the Christmas Spectacular. As long-standing supporters of Momentum, the church has played an invaluable role over the years, and we are very grateful for everything they did to make the event run smoothly.
Tara Sherjan, Head of Public Fundraising at Momentum said: “What a brilliant evening, which hopefully left everyone feeling uplifted and in the Christmas spirit. Special thanks to Lawrence Broomfield and the immensely talented Laine Theatre Arts Choir, as well as our wonderful ambassador Kim Ismay, who always brings a special energy to our events. To everyone who bought tickets – thank you. Funds raised will help us be there for families who need our support this Christmas and beyond.”
