Each one of Momentum’s 12 trustees bring different talents, viewpoints, and experiences to our Board, all of which help to shape the future direction of the charity.

Meet our newest trustee Rob Read. Rob, who runs his own marketing services agency, and joined Momentum in July this year:

“Momentum has been part of our lives for several years. My wife has volunteered for them for four years, and more recently they have been extremely supportive to our family, after our 14-year-old son Teddy passed away in November 2022. This life-changing experience made me realign my values, and I wanted to repay the goodwill shown by offering my knowledge and experience to help the charity with their strategic goals.

“I have worked in sales and marketing for almost 25 years and have run a marketing service agency for the past 15 years. I recently completed my Executive MBA at Warwick Business School, specialising in Strategy and Leadership. I hope this experience will help the leadership team in taking the charity to the next level as they enter their 20th year.

“Charities are desperate for trustees – there is a huge shortage in the UK to the tune of 100,000+. If you are considering becoming a Trustee, I would suggest you do it for the right reasons and ones that are personal to you. It is a commitment that you should undertake with your eyes open, be aware of the responsibilities you may have, and that you will undoubtedly be called upon to volunteer your time in many other ways to support the charity – whether it be marshalling an event, selling raffle tickets or dressing up as Santa!”
