Please be advised that there is a chain ferry to cross the river and a short walk to the boat. There are also several steps down into the boat and the cabin is narrow inside.

Terms and Conditions

Please take the time to read through our TERMS & CONDITIONS of the use of our boat. By signing, you indicate that you and all the adults in your party, accept these terms & conditions and that you agree to abide by them. If you have any questions on these terms & conditions please email us at respite@momentumcharity.org. If you do not accept these terms & conditions, then a booking will not be approved.

Terms and Conditions(Required)

1) Each child under 12 must have an accompanying adult, for safety reasons. Children must always be supervised and, unless agreed with the skipper, are not allowed to be in the wheelhouse unless dis-embarking.
2) Children should not be left unsupervised with volunteer crew. Your children are your own responsibility throughout the day, please ensure they are supervised, by you, at all times, taking particular care while on the chain ferry and boat deck.
3) All persons on the boat must wear a suitable life-jacket at all times.
4) You confirm that you are over 21 years of age.
5) All members of your party will listen to the Safety Briefing given by the crew and will adhere to safety instructions at all times.
6) Families are not allowed in the Wheelhouse while the boat is on the river, unless invited by the Momentum Skipper.
7) Only named people on your reservation form can use the boat and anyone not listed will be asked to leave.
8) The number of persons permitted for a day cruise on the boat must not exceed 8, unless agreed before-hand with the crew. This number does not include crew.
9) Smoking is not permitted on the boat.
10) Pets are not allowed on the boat.
11) If any person acts unreasonably, causing damage to property or annoyance to other users of the marina, or other boat users they may be asked to disembark the boat / leave the marina as appropriate.
12) Momentum is not responsible for any loss or damage to you or your party’s belongings.
13) Momentum is not responsible for any personal injury to or death of you or your party whilst using the boat or during embarkation or disembarkation. You and your party use the pontoons, quays and other landings on the river entirely at your and their own risk.
14) In the event of severe weather, high winds, bad river conditions or if the boat is unavailable due to breakdown Momentum reserves the right to cancel your booking.
15) It may not be possible to navigate our boat safely on the river when Yellow boards are in place and isn’t possible when the river has Red board warnings (these are issued by the government environment agency). Your crew will check the website 24/48 hours ahead of the cruise and on the morning of the cruise if they have concerns. If the Red warnings are shown, the crew will cancel the cruise and will contact you directly.
If the Yellow warnings are shown your crew will assess whether the river can be navigated in certain areas safely and will cancel your cruise if this is not possible.
16) Boating can be hazardous. While Momentum has taken all reasonable care in the preparation of the boat and in the provision of safety equipment, you and your party are responsible for your own safety, the safety of third parties affected by your actions and the safe return of the boat.
17) You and your party will be responsible for reimbursing Momentum for any loss or damage to the boat or its equipment caused by the action or negligence of you or your party. You and your party will also be responsible for reimbursing Momentum for any loss or damage to any third party caused by the action or negligence of you or your party which is not covered by Momentum’s insurance, and if the insurance does cover the same the excess on the insurance policy.
18) You and your party will report all damage or loss as soon as you can to Momentum.
19) You agree to ensure that all members of the party understand and comply with these terms & conditions.

I confirm I have read the terms and conditions above, and I understand and agree to be bound to and to comply fully with the same. I also agree that the employees, agents, volunteers or anyone else acting on Momentum’s behalf are entitled to the benefit of this agreement and are entitled to enforce it in their own name.
