“I was very ill but I’m healthy and well now. My leukaemia and medical history is an important part of who I am and feel I have developed resilience and other special skills as a result, but I do not want this to define me or be reminded of it too much. Momentum has helped me so much in the past 15 years since my diagnosis. I talked about this in a fundraiser last year. I don’t always find it easy to talk about the past but I’m so grateful for the special moments that they have given me. Like painting pebbles with my friend, meeting Jacqueline Wilson, holidays, boat trips, and cups of tea with CEO Bianca. I feel very honoured to be asked to be an Ambassador for this wonderful Charity and do what I can to help other families.

I am really enjoying Sixth Form and the teachers give me a lot of support. I’ve made lots of friends and am progressing through my subjects of Photography and ICT. I love photography because I can express my creativity. I also enjoy exercising. My weekends and holidays are full of rowing, swimming, Zumba and most importantly, being with my friends. I also think it’s really important to do things like meditating, yoga and tapping, as well as being in nature. These things have really helped me to grow and learn how to deal with difficult times and emotions. I think they would benefit everyone!
