A fairytale adventure

Six families enjoyed a special day out at the end of last month, when they stepped inside the charming Fairy House in Battersea.

It was a chance for families who are supported by Momentum to have a break from day-to-day life and make some special memories together in a very enchanting setting.

As the children arrived at the old Victorian building with the pink door in London, they were greeted by Fairy Katie, who took them on an adventure around her special house.

During the visit, the children got involved in potion-making, hunting for hidden treasures, storytelling, reciting spells, and crafting magical creations which they were able to take home with their very own pair of special fairy wings and wand.

Talking about the experience, one mum said: “The fairy house was lovely. Bonnie had the best time she kept saying thank you on the drive home. I asked Bonnie what her favourite bit was and she said the magic talking wardrobe that had her fairy wings in. Thank you so much for putting her forward for the experience.”

Another parent added: “The fairy house was a wonderful escape and a beautifully unique experience, you could see how enthused the children were by the charming storytelling and talking furniture. It was wonderful seeing our daughter getting involved with making potions, casting magical spells and chasing fairies.”

Another mum commented: “Althea is very much in her fairy phase – she even has fairies on her super shoes, so this was perfect. It was the first time leaving my 8-month-old for the afternoon, so it was nice having time just the two of us without her two sisters. It was also really nice to meet a few other parents. Fairy Katie was so wonderful. Althea will be talking about this for a long time to come, I am sure.”

One little girl, Lileh, who attended said: “It was wonderful! I loved it, especially finding apples and dancing around. I will tell all my friends to go and see it too! I can’t wait to discover all the other winter, spring and summer fairies!”

Fairy Katie very generously made this experience possible at no cost – a huge thank you from us and our supported families.
