Community groups
Bring your club, faith group, society or local organisation together to raise vital funds for families facing childhood cancer, serious illness and bereavement. From organising an event to choosing Momentum as your charity of the year, your group can make a real difference to families in your local community.

Why support Momentum?
When a child is diagnosed with cancer or another serious illness, family life can change overnight. While the child receives medical treatment, parents, carers and siblings may also need practical help, emotional support and opportunities to spend time together away from hospital.
Momentum works alongside hospitals and community healthcare teams to provide support tailored to each family. This can include support from a Family Support Worker, counselling and creative therapies, respite breaks, practical guidance and memorable experiences together. We also continue to support families experiencing bereavement.
By fundraising for Momentum, your group can help us be there for families across Surrey, Sussex and London when they need us most.
Bring your community together
Fundraising for Momentum gives your group something positive to work towards together. Whether you organise an event, take on a challenge or support us throughout the year, everyone can contribute in a way that suits them. It can strengthen connections between members, welcome new people into your group and create a shared achievement your whole community can feel proud of.

Ways your group can get involved
Whether you already have an idea or need some inspiration, there are plenty of ways your group can support Momentum. Choose something that suits your members, interests and available time.

Organise a community event
Host a coffee morning, quiz night, concert, fair, bake sale, charity match or seasonal celebration and donate the proceeds to Momentum.

Charity of the Year
Bring your fundraising together across the year with events, collections and activities that give everyone opportunities to take part.

Take on a group challenge
Bring people together for a sponsored walk, sporting challenge, tournament or activity connected to your club or group.

Hold a collection or appeal
Collect donations at meetings, services or events, or organise a special appeal during Lent, Christmas or another important time of year.

Turn your group’s interests into a fundraiser
Use what your group already enjoys, whether that is music, sport, gardening, crafting or cooking, and turn it into an activity that raises money for Momentum.

Invite Momentum into your community
Invite us to attend your fair or event, or arrange for someone from Momentum to speak to your group about our work and the families you are helping.
Resources to support your fundraising
We’ve created a range of resources to make fundraising simple, enjoyable and successful. You’ll find fundraising tips, posters, sponsorship support, collection guidance and other useful materials to help your group get started.

The relationship, from the outset, has been fantastic. Staff engagement has been excellent thanks to the energy and support from the Momentum team. We’ve had some great experiences visiting various facilities, seeing for ourselves the impact of funds raised… it gives me and our employees great satisfaction knowing that our efforts make a real difference.
Ready to get your group involved?
Whether you already have a plan or are still looking for ideas, our fundraising team would love to hear from you. Tell us a little about your group and how you would like to get involved, and we’ll help you take the next step.
