Our impact & annual reports
Every single day we make a positive difference to the lives of the children and families we support; to be there to help them whatever the outcome, for as long as we’re needed.

Helping hundreds of families
In the last year, we supported 506 families whose child is in active treatment and 220 bereaved families, offering personally tailored support to care for the emotional and mental wellbeing of every single family member.
We’re here to support the whole family; whether that’s the child themselves, their parents or their siblings, our aim is to improve their overall wellbeing as they navigate life after diagnosis. We do this by focusing on:
- Reducing feelings of isolation
- Improving emotional and mental wellbeing
- Strengthening the entire family unit
- Creating a positive association with being in hospital
- Supporting the ability to cope at times of increased strain

Because no family should have to cope alone
Everything we do is about making a positive difference when it’s needed most. Life with a child who has cancer or another life-challenging condition is incredibly difficult. The impact on families is profound.
- 95% of parents experience moderate to severe impact on their emotional health and wellbeing
- 92% of children experience moderate to severe impact on their participation in social and leisure activities
- 69% of siblings experience significant emotional strain
- 93% of families face financial strain, with most reporting additional monthly costs of £100–£300
Education can be affected, family relationships and finances can be strained and, generally, every family member’s wellbeing will be impacted.
As a small and agile organisation we pride ourselves on being able to react quickly to changing family circumstances. We regularly monitor our family’s needs through ongoing evaluation and surveys, so that we can listen to the issues they’re facing, and research and implement new ways of delivering services for them, exactly when and how they’re needed.
Our impact over the years
Since our organisation became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 30 June 2022, our financial history as a Trust is no longer available on the Charity Commission website. You can explore our previous Impact Reports below to see how, together with our supporters, we’ve helped children and families facing serious illness and bereavement over the years.
