Why make a will?
Making a will helps ensure the people you care about are provided for and your wishes are clearly recorded. It allows you to decide how your money, property and possessions should be shared, and to appoint people you trust to carry out your wishes.
If you have children under 18, your will can also record who you would like to care for them. Without a valid will, your estate will be distributed according to the law, which may not reflect your circumstances or what matters most to you.
A will is not only a practical document. It can also reflect the people, values and causes that have been important throughout your life. Providing for the people you care about will usually be your priority. Once you have considered their needs, you may also choose to include a gift to a cause close to your heart.

It could help provide practical and emotional support during treatment, counselling and bereavement support, respite breaks and precious opportunities for families to spend time together. Every gift, whatever its size, can help carry that support forward for another family.
