Volunteer with us
Volunteers are at the heart of Momentum. By giving your time, skills and enthusiasm, you can help us make a real difference for families facing childhood cancer, a life-challenging condition, or bereavement.

Why volunteer?
Volunteering with Momentum is a rewarding way to meet new people, learn new skills and become part of a supportive and passionate community.
Our volunteers tell us that volunteering gives them the opportunity to:
- Make a meaningful difference to local families
- Meet like-minded people and build new friendships
- Develop new skills and experiences
- Give back to their local community
- Support a cause they care deeply about
Every contribution helps
Volunteers help us extend our reach and ensure that more families can access the support they need.
Whether you can spare a few hours at an event, provide administrative support, help raise awareness in your local community or share a professional skill, there are lots of ways to get involved. Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue to provide vital emotional and practical support to the families who rely on us.

Ways you can volunteer

Event volunteers
Support our fundraising and community events throughout the year. From welcoming guests and selling raffle tickets to helping with registration and cheering on participants, event volunteers play a crucial role in making our events a success.

Community fundraising volunteers
Help inspire others to support Momentum by promoting our work in your local area, encouraging fundraising activities and helping us build connections within the community.

Boat volunteers
One of Momentum’s most special volunteering opportunities is supporting our family respite programme on our riverboat on the Thames. We are always keen to hear from qualified skippers and crew members who would like to volunteer their time and expertise to help families enjoy memorable days on the water.

Office and administrative support
If you have organisational skills and some time to spare, you can help our team with a range of administrative tasks that keep the charity running smoothly behind the scenes.

Share your professional skills
We welcome volunteers with specialist skills and experience who can support Momentum in areas such as marketing, communications, events, finance, HR, IT photography, design and more.

Flexible opportunities to suit you
We understand that everyone has different commitments, so we offer a range of volunteering opportunities to fit around your availability. Whether you’re looking for a regular role or would like to help occasionally, we’d love to hear from you.

I hope this class gives people the chance to take time for themselves, connect with others and support a local charity doing amazing work to support families going through unimaginable times.
