Turn your payslip into purpose this Payroll Giving Month
Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn) is a straightforward, tax-efficient way to support charities through regular donations taken directly from your salary before tax is applied. Because your donation comes from your gross pay, you receive immediate tax relief, meaning your chosen charity benefits more, while it costs you less.
For example, if you pay tax at 20%, a £10 donation to charity would reduce your take-home pay by just £8, and Momentum would receive the full £10. If you’re a higher-rate taxpayer, the savings are even greater, making Payroll Giving an especially effective way to give.
Payroll Giving isn’t just good for employees, it delivers real value for employers too. Donations and matched contributions can be offset against profits, helping to reduce corporation tax, while creating a meaningful, low-effort way to give back.
For Momentum Children’s Charity, Payroll Giving is life changing. Regular donations provide families of seriously ill children with reliable, ongoing support when they need it most. It is a commitment to stability, trust and long-term impact for families facing the toughest of times. By giving £20 a month, over the course of a year, your generous donation would cover 12 personal sessions with a Family Support Worker, providing comfort and advice to a parent.
Victoria Futcher, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Momentum said: “Payroll Giving is one of the simplest ways to support Momentum, yet it makes an enormous difference to the families we help. Regular monthly donations give us the confidence to plan and be there for every family who needs our support.
Victoria continued: “It is easy for companies to set up, so we encourage employers to consider offering Payroll Giving to their teams. More information is available on our website, and please do get in touch if there’s anything I can help with. To everyone who already supports Momentum through Payroll Giving, thank you. Your ongoing generosity is truly appreciated.”
