Our respite breaks are designed for families supported by Momentum, offering a chance to take a break from the pressures of challenging treatments and enjoy some time together in a peaceful, safe environment close to home. Caring for a seriously ill child can make holidays difficult, so our cabins in the New Forest and West Sussex provide a perfect alternative for families seeking a much-needed getaway.

Lianne, her partner Henry, and their son, Oscar, recently enjoyed a break at Mo’s Sunset Lagoon at Church Farm Holiday Village in West Sussex. Talking about their stay, Lianne said:

“We were there for four days, and it was such a lovely reset. We are unable to go abroad with Oscar at the moment as we can’t get the insurance, be too far from hospital, or risk losing lots of money through not being able to go at the last minute, so this was perfect.

Having something to look forward to when you are going through all of this makes a huge difference, and it felt amazing to tell Oscar he was having a holiday. We tied in a trip to Peppa Pig World which Oscar loved, and we spent lots of time on Pagham beach which was beautiful and perfect for our dog.

I got some time to myself to read a book and have a cup of tea. The cabin was big and safe enough for Oscar to play happily.  We timed the trip well, so we went directly after an appointment at The Royal Marsden, which meant we had four days where we didn’t have to worry about hospital visits.”
