The Kingston Business Excellence Awards, now in their fourth year, champion the best of the borough’s businesses by celebrating their hard work, achievements and successes.

Following the deadline for entries in June an independent adjudicator drew up a shortlist across the 12 business categories. Those shortlisted went forward to a Judging Day on September 14, with the winners being finally announced at a glittering Gala Dinner in Kingston last night.

Momentum, based in King’s Road in Kingston, has been supporting children with cancer and life-limiting conditions across SW London and Surrey since its inception in 2004.

Charity founder and Chief Executive, Bianca Effemey, who received the award on behalf of the charity, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised by The Kingston Business Excellence Awards 2016 for the vital work that we do. It is harder for smaller charities to increase our profile and attract supporters, so this will have a huge impact.

“When the unthinkable happens we are there to support local families through the toughest time of their lives. Whether that’s providing emotional support or respite breaks on our boat or at one of our holiday homes, Momentum is there to support families for as long as they need us.”
