Berkeley has committed to raise at least £90,000 during the three years. The funds raised will enable the charity to offer a range of support services to 150 families and 80 bereaved families, including counselling, music therapy, trips and treats. The charity currently receives no statutory funding and has to raise every penny in order to fund their work.

In addition, Berkeley will use its construction expertise and network of subcontractors to support on:

  • Children’s bedroom makeovers
  • Refurbishment of one of Momentum’s two holiday homes in the New Forest, which host around 80 families each year for respite breaks
  • Refurbishment projects across Momentum’s three partner hospitals

In addition to this, they will run a volunteer programme to encourage staff to participate in major fundraising campaigns organised by Momentum.

Berkeley has already planned several fundraising events for the next year, including a prestigious Black Tie Boxing evening which will be attended by over 350 guests.

I am thrilled to start this new partnership with Momentum. We are really excited about putting all our construction skills to good use when we help out on our first refurbishment with Momentum.

Alan Edgar, Managing Director of Berkeley Homes (West London)

Bianca Effemey, Founder and Chief Executive of Momentum said:

“We are delighted and grateful that the staff at Berkeley Homes West London have chosen to support Momentum as their charity partner for the next 3 years, we are excited to work to support the employee’s fundraising over the coming months, which will really make a huge difference. We rely 100% on voluntary donations, so it’s only through the efforts of companies like Berkeley Homes West London that we can continue to support families in our local area who are caring for a seriously ill child.”
