As Community Fundraiser, your role will be to manage and take care of all our charity supporters, developing and delivering a range of individual and community fundraising initiatives throughout the year.

This is an exciting and fast-paced environment, within the creative and dynamic Fundraising team.

Location: Based at our new office in East Molesey (closest train station, Hampton Court Station).

Hours: Full Time, permanent role.

Report to: Head of Fundraising.

Salary: £25,000-£29,000 depending on experience.

  • Manage the charity’s existing and new community fundraisers providing appropriate advice and support to individuals on a wide range of fundraising activities, ensuring fundraising advice meets the necessary legal requirements and conforms to standards of good practice.
  • Provide exceptional supporter care to community fundraisers to maximise fundraising and ensure long-term charity involvement.
  • Manage income and expenditure budgets to ensure that targets are met, providing regular reports to Head of Fundraising.
  • Build relationships with, and make applications to, community groups and local organisations to encourage their support for the charity (examples: Women’s Institutes, Rotary, Roundtable, local Mayors, pubs, supermarkets, community annual events etc).
  • Plan, manage and develop a programme of bespoke community events for Momentum e.g. Valentine’s Collection in February and Charity of the Year partnership events.
  • Oversee distribution of collection tins and leaflets within the community, managing pick-up and replenishing of stocks.
  • Manage the administration linked to individual and community fundraisers, including updating charity database with communications, sending out fundraising materials, logging funds received, monitoring Justgiving and sending thank you letters and certificates.
  • Attend select community events acting as a charity ambassador, or arrange appropriate volunteers, to give talks and accept cheques. Able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Assist Head of Finance with the accurate recording of donations.
  • Ensure that relevant fundraising pages of the Momentum Children’s Charity website are regularly updated.
  • Manage and develop Momentum Children’s Charity’s in-memoriam & tribute giving scheme.
  • In conjunction with Momentum Children’s Charity’s Marketing Department produce new fundraising and promotional materials as required, ensure stock levels are maintained and that activities are appropriately publicised both internally and externally.
  • Assist in the expansion of the supporter database and identify new sources of income.
  • Identify appropriate volunteer roles and opportunities. Recruit, coach and train fundraising volunteers to assist with community events, talks, cheque collections.
  • Develop Momentum Children’s Charity’s Christmas card range and identify new merchandise opportunities, exploring promotional opportunities.
  • Other ad hoc duties in line with your role.


  • Education and qualifications: Numerate and literate
  • Experience of community fundraising or ability to demonstrate transferable skills
  • Knowledge of Institute of Fundraising codes of practice
  • Proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets
  • Knowledge of the principles of good donor management and/or customer care
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management skills


  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Knowledge of Institute of Fundraising codes of practice
  • Understanding of data protection regulations
  • Awareness of Legal and financial aspects of lotteries, licensing laws etc
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and CRM databases
  • Ability to develop and motivate individuals and groups of volunteers
  • Good understanding of budgeting and financial management
